HOW DIGITAL ARE YOUR MOMENTS?
HOW LIQUID ARE YOUR EXPERIENCES?
During my Master of Arts in Media & Communications, I developed the theoretical and artistic framework I call "Digital Moments, Liquid Experiences" which also serves as a foundation for Digital Media Literacy Education (DMLE). This concept blends media studies, contemporary philosophy, and visual arts to explore how emerging mobile technologies—particularly smartphone cameras and social media platforms—transform our daily lives, from capturing to sharing digital content.
To broaden the dialogue on the subject, in 2021, I pursued a Master of Fine Arts in Digital Media Design, integrating scholarly research with multimedia art, documentary filmmaking, and design,
Since then, this research has significantly expanded into the fields of digital humanities and educational leadership, particularly fostering initiatives on digital media literacy education for faculty and curriculum development,

"Digital Moments" refers to fleeting instances of interaction mediated by digital platforms, often encapsulated through smartphone photography and immediate social sharing (e.g., capturing, uploading, liking, or commenting). These moments prioritize documentation and broadcast over lived embodied experiences.
"Liquid Experiences" draws from the work of prominent sociologist, Zygmunt Bauman and his concept of liquid modernity - where life becomes increasingly transient, fragmented, and devoid of lasting depth. Applied here, it describes how the constant mediation of reality through digital interactions leads to experiences that are shallow and fleeting, consumed for instant gratification rather than deeper meaning.

goalS AS A SCHOLAR:
1. Analyze the patterns and impacts of digital culture shaped by emerging mobile technologies and image-based applications.
2. Develop innovative approaches to engage and educate digital citizens across diverse contexts in Higher Ed.
3. Bridge creative practice and academic research to address critical global issues through storytelling and interdisciplinary collaboration.

integration of research with educational STRATEGIES
Center for Excellence in Teaching & Learning (CETL)
As part of my graduate assistantship with UConn's Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL), I have been applying my research findings to design communication strategies for faculty and curriculum development. Focused on analyzing the same outcome of "how to communicate with a generation of digital citizens," I have been promoting digital media literacy education in higher education through workshop series, consultations, and research. My goal is to equip faculty with the skills and critical thinking needed to engage effectively with a generation of digital learners.
